You would think when you first arrive in Prague center that you are in the middle of a medieval filming set as you are met with cobbled streets and grand buildings which have not changed for centuries. But hidden within these old buildings are modern restaurants, book shops and cinemas which makes it exciting to discover what is inside.

Thankfully, I had the lovely Daniel (accompanied by Selena) to show me his hometown and main city otherwise I wouldn't have known how to get by.

We took time to visit a contemporary museum, which was good change from going to the Tate Modern and I was also able to see the Dancing House which I remember studying and drawing when I was in secondary school.

The main city is surrounded with cobbled pebbles so I recommend that you wear good walking shoes, do not wear high heels or your feet will suffer.

One key thing that surprised me and Selena was how chilled the city was. Even though we were in the capital city, we did not get bombarded by tourists and the public as you would in London.

Hi guys, I thought I would create something different this time. I'm trying to become more creative in the way I present my videos so I hope you enjoy this one. This was a short trip with Anna and Cheryl to Mykonos. I fell in love with Greece with Thassos so I was super excited to return again but to a different island.

Overall, Mykonos is a beautiful island and I enjoyed escaping reality for 5 days but in my honest opinion it has not topped off Thassos. I think what disappointed me most was the beaches sands weren't as smooth or clean and there was a plethora of tourism which ruined the naturalness of the island. Nevertheless, I do recommend going there especially if you want to see the windmill sunset. It is definitely a place for relaxation but take note that it is also a party island aswell, an abundance of clubs lie in the midst of Mykonos Town however my friends and I would rather do pilates and spa treatments (which we did and it was amazing).

I fell in love with the rnb beats in this song so I thought I would make a choreography to it. If you don't know, I dance. I've been doing it for a year now and never really had the courage to film anything let alone choreograph. This is the second choreo I have made and I feel that my dancing vocabulary is expanding. The movements flow a lot better too.

Let me know what you think :)

So, I'm sitting here in my room with a cup of lemon honey, thinking how I am already halfway through my second term. I am currently bombarded with 4 ongoing projects and I can't lie - its been hectic, my mind is probably 70% uni, 20% social and 10% going to work. I haven't had free time to create the posts that I want to. In fact, I have been living the hermit life and not even been doing the late nights I used to do last year.

Thankfully, I have the next week free to do some work and hopefully work on some notepad designs. I feel a bit disorientated with uni, some lessons or lecture I have attended have been dire and not worth the £9000 I am paying a year but life goes on and I guess I will have to deal with it for the time being.

On the plus side, January has flown by and I'm looking forward to spring.

Thanks for reading. I thought I would share what I have been up to since winter break. I will keep you updated on the progress of these notepads and I hoped you enjoyed reading my posts :)

What do you think of them?

Here's also the video I have made for them:

Hey guys, long time no post.

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! I've been occupied with uni (and well... I have been to lazy to update to tell you the truth but now I am back on and I shall be posting more regularly.)

3 weeks ago I decided to dye my hair grey due to 2 reasons:
  1. My roots were looking ugly and needed a touch up.
  2. I've been wanting grey hair for such a long time but never had the guts to do it.

So I decided to have it done at Charlie Brown, I've had enough of dyeing my hair myself and not getting the results I want. I had a consultation with the hairdresser (Rachael) and she definitely knew what I was going for; she even said realistically it is very hard to go grey in one session especially when my hair is dark. But since I had pre-lightened my hair to a platinum blonde before it was very easy to lift the caramel colour out of my hair.

Grey is a cool colour because it's different but it's not so different that people will give you the eye when you walk down the street. I have to say that it does wash out very easily; and that is when I turn to my holy grail: FUDGE shampoo and conditioner, it is literally the best toner you can have on a budget.

To be honest, the hair colour I have no isn't my desired colour. I would want a dark steele grey colour with my roots blended in. Currently my roots still stick out like a sore thumb but I shall perservere and wait till my next pay day since Christmas shopping has taken it's portion out of my bank account.

The bottom line is, if you want any pastel or grey colour, you will have to bleach your hair and that will mean your hair will be damaged. You will have to make sure you take the time to maintain it and you can't be lazy about it.

I will also share my video here:

Thank you for reading and leave any tips you have for maintaining your dyed hair.

Project 2: This aim of this brief was to tell a narrative through the theme of memory.

Initially I began researching semiotics to tell a narrative. I was more interested in how advertisers use semiotics to manipulate the viewer’s opinion of a product. Semiotics is closely related to symbolism for example: the Mcdonald’s logo could be perceived as golden arches which beckons good people to enter. This then lead me to look further into logos so I could understand how and why they are made.

After researching books, films and adverts based on logos, I began to understand the influence a logo has on consumers. Logos have the ability to add imaginary value to a product, for example designer products are usually only bought because of the company name; the product itself may be high quality but the company may exploit customer’s money because their belief of the product is unnecessarily high. Thus, logos have the ability to create profit because it is the company’s identity. If the logo is memorable then consumers are more likely to refer to it and trust it. Therefore I found it interesting how consumers associate the value of the logo to the product.

Above: Playing around with the identities of various logos.

I decided to look in my room and document as many logos I could see. It didn’t take me long to realise that every product in the room had a logo; no matter how small the product was, they all had an identity associated with it. Hence, I decided to take existing logos and manipulate them on Photoshop so that their identities were mixed. I showed my classmates the results and they were still able to recognise the different logos even though they were mixed up.

Next, I researched on the basics of a successful logo, overall the main three factors were simplicity, relevance to the product and font/imagery, Hence I thought I would create my own logos because logos themselves are a narrative. However logos are created to give identity to a product or service; my problem was that I didn’t have a product of my own to relate to. I decided then to create logos on products that don’t exist such as emotions. As a next step, I began to look at different emotions and designed the logos however, the response I received was that the logos were too literal and in my opinion they were not distinctive enough.

I then tried to portray emotions through using one letter and typeface; in this case I used the letter S to represent myself and the typeface Sans Serif. I played around with the letter making sure that I used the space of an A4 sheet each time. This was more successful in capturing the viewer’s attention compared to my initial logos because it gave the view more to think about. 20 emotions were created in the end but I also wanted to bring the project a little bit further; thus I decided to present the emotions in a book.

In this book, I decided to refer to polaroids I have taken throughout the month of October. The polaroids have also been an influence after watching the film Memento, where the main character takes polaroids in order to remember events. Each chapter is a specific date which I have captured on my polaroid. The emotions were selected from the 20 and will show how I felt on the day, thus I am portraying a typographic journal in a narrative book.

After receiving feedback on my first draft, I decided to make a 2nd edition for November. I made an extra three emotions and also included cover pages to give my book more context. The cover pages are photocopies of my polaroids so it should make it clearer to the reader of what my book is about.
Overall, I enjoyed my final piece and I feel that the ideas have come together in the end. If I were improve anything it would be to experiment with different printing techniques to improve the aesthetics and content of the book.
