The 2nd destination was Thailand - Vanessa and I only had 4 days to squeeze everything in. We explored the island Phuket which is known for their lush beaches, Koh Phi Phi islands and James Bond island. Unfortunately we were caught in the monsoon season so we did have occasional downpour (but tbh it was like being in England again).

The pictures with the 3D paintings are from Trick Eye Museum in Phuket Town - I highly recommend it and you can spend hours in there just having fun with the walls.

The culture is one of the highlights in the country especially visiting the beautiful temples, it reminded me of the animated film "The King and I".

However, I can't help to say that I found Phuket a bit overrated, it was too touristy for me and the beaches weren't as nice as I expected (you will know what I mean when I show you my Greece photos). But all in all - lovely food, cheap transportation and welcoming people.

But why so little?

On the last day me and Vanessa went on an excursion around the Koh Phi Phi islands and it was one of the worst trips I have been on because:

We went by speedboat and didn't expect the waves to be so harsh during monsoon season. For a whole hour I experienced the excruciating sea sickness from the boat jumping up and down. I have never been sea sick before so this was the first for me. Let me warn you - if you don't mind speedboats and constant thudding and swaying by all means do it because it's faster than taking the ferry. So saying that I had no energy to even lift the camera to take photos or film, it was horrible!!
The rain was a pain. I'm serious - when you're going so fast on the speedboat the seawater will start flying into your face and to make it worse the rain also did the same so it was a 2 in 1 power shower on a speedboat. We were drenched by the time we got to the last island.

Enough of me complaining, it was probably just bad luck but at least I know what not to do next time. I most likely would have enjoyed it more if I wasn't so sea sick.
